NEW RELEASE 

Out 3/5/10, Robert Palmer - At The BBC comprises the concert at the Hammersmith Palais from 1983, which was originally recorded and broadcast on Radio 1 by the BBC. 

This live release features many of the tracks from the album Pride and other classics that showcase Palmer’s innovative and legendary style.

Also included as a bonus track is favourite ‘Johnny & Mary’, also recorded by the BBC in 1982 for ‘Friday Night…Saturday Morning’.

Just to let you know that the estate of Robert Palmer is planning to develop a new website and begin to reactivate Roberts catalogue.  As a result we are giving our domain to the estate in order to facilitate their efforts.  Hopefully this will mean that we will finally see the reissues appear soon.

Meli-Melo is a compilation album released by the Simon Le Bon backed Syn Records in 2003.  The label is based in Japan.  The compilation was recently released to digital stores. For many years it was rumoured that Robert and Simon had recorded the Lennon/ Mc Cartney track, Drive My Car, however, this was not the case and Robert recorded the song with the Syn artist Norico.  A 30 second sample can be heard via a link in the Forum.  The album is available at emusic.com and other stores although it doesnt appear to be on iTunes yet. UPDATE: Amazon have the song available to purchase on MP3 for US customers.  Go to the shop to purchase.

30 years ago, Robert Palmer entered the US top 40 singles chart for the very first time with Every Kinda People. This Andy Fraser penned ballad with a positive message eventually reached number 16 and became one of Palmer's signature songs. Between 1978 and 1991, the singer collected 12 top 40 hits, including 3 with The Power Station.

A new compilation album celebrates the golden era of the Compass Point studio in the Bahamas, where Robert Palmer lived and worked in the 1970s and '80s. Funky Nassau (Strut Records) collects 13 tracks recorded between 1980 and 1986 by artists like Talking Heads, Grace Jones or Gwen Guthrie. Many of these tracks are supported by legendary rhythm section musicians Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare. Palmer is credited as writer and producer of the song You Rented A Space by queen of disco trash Cristina.
